The Thunderbird Turquoise Mine in Nevada produced a small amount of brilliant, relatively hard, medium to dark blue turquoise with a light black to grey matrix. The stunning, large oval stone is set inside a thick bezel accented with detailed, heavy cut out work. The pendant is crafted entirely of sterling silver. The stone and surrounding bezel measures 1 & 1/4" by 7/8" (NOT including the bail). The 3/8" bail has a 7mm opening. Handmade by Navajo artist Phyllis Smith. Hallmarked "P. A. Smith" and "sterling" on the back. The small white spot on the stone is a reflection from the camera flash.
